Calendula Flower, also known as Pot Marigold, is one of the most powerful ingredients used in NITPICKER Soak.

Calendula has be cultivated for six centuries, making it one of the oldest of all flowers to be cultivated.

It was introduced to the States by Europeans, but this flower is native to Asia, Western Europe and the Mediterranean.

In the 1800’s, doctors realized, when applied to wounds, it helped to stop bleeding and clots to form.

Calendula has many benefits when used topically, as well as when consumed as tea.

BENEFITS (TOPICAL USE):

  • ANTI-INFLAMMATORY / TREAT ACNE:

Due to the high amounts of flavonoids, saponins and triterpenoids in this flower, it reduces inflammation, which is the main cause of most skin ailments. For this reason, it is great at treating acne and reducing the swelling of pimples, without causing dryness to the skin.

  • HYDRATING:

Calendula is also rich in essential fatty acids, which allow skin to retain water and lock-in moisture, giving the skin a more supple and smooth appearance.

  • RICH IN ANTIOXIDANTS:

The antioxidants in this flower stop free radical damage that lead to premature aging and wrinkles, while improving circulation, giving skin a glow and a more plump appearance.

  • ANTI-AGING:

Calendula promotes the production of collagen and elastin, firming the skin and giving it a tighter appearance.

  • ENHANCE HEALING:

It is wonderful for wound healing because of antiseptic properties, while increasing oxygen and blood flow to the skin, allowing nutrients to better circulate through the skin. This also promotes faster healing time and cell regeneration.

  • TREATS CHRONIC SKIN CONDITIONS:

The nutrients in this flower decrease the effect of eczema, psoriasis and other skin infections.
